Lawlor Winston, LLP Partner, Morris S. Finkel, Esq. (1935 - 2010)
Morris Finkel, 75, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed away November 25, 2010. Beloved husband of Bonnie Finkel for 46 years; loving father of Pilar (Andrew) Prinz; cherished grandfather of Holland and Hunter.Morris was born in Philadelphia, completed his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and received his J.D. from Temple University. A member of both the Pennsylvania and Florida Bar Associations, he practiced law for more than 40 years, and in Broward County since 1976.
Shortly after admittance to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1962, and subsequently the Florida Bar in 1976, Morris became one of only three attorneys who practiced with two of the most prestigious Philadelphia civil and maritime firms, formerly known as Freedman, Landy & Lorry and Richter, Toll & Cavanaugh. His expertise grew in civil actions for Seaman under the Jones Act as well as injured cruise line passengers.
With a concentration in the areas of civil trial and maritime litigation, exclusively in personal injury and wrongful death claims, Morris became a well-known plaintiff’s trial attorney and was a frequent guest lecturer to the Pennsylvania Trial Bar and Broward County Trial Lawyers Association. Morris’ love for the law was only second to his love for his family and friends. He was the consummate gentleman, a skilled trial lawyer, a paradigm of professionalism, and mentor to many young lawyers. Morris spent his final years as a Partner at the Fort Lauderdale litigation firm of Lawlor Winston, LLP.
